《The Night Bird》

The bird is singing a song about flying up in the sky.The bird is sad because he is not free.

这只鸟儿正在唱一首关于翱翔天空的歌。鸟儿很伤心，因为他不自由。

Outside in a tree, a barn owl hears him.The owl says, “What a beautiful song!”

外面的树上有只仓鸮，仓鸮听到了鸟儿的歌声。仓鸮说：“多美妙的歌声啊！”

The owl flies to the palace window and speaks to the bird.”You are not a nightingale!”

仓鸮飞到官殿的窗户上，对鸟儿说：“你不是夜莺啊！”

“Why are you singing at night, little bird?” asks the owl.

“小鸟，你为什么在晚上唱歌呢？”仓鸮问。

The little bird sighs and looks down.”I will tell you my story.” he replies sadly.

小鸟吸了口气，低下头。“我来告诉你我的故事。”他伤心地回答。

“One sunny day, I was so happy that I was singing very loudly.I closed my eyes to sing even better.”

“有一天，阳光明媚，我特别高兴，我唱得很大声。我闭上眼睛，这样甚至可以唱得更好。”

“A man with a net was hiding nearby.He was waiting to catch me!”

“有个人正拿着网兜藏在附近，他在等着抓我！”

“When I closed my eyes, he caught me in the net.He shut me in this cage and took me home.”

“当我闭上眼睛的时候，他用网兜抓住了我，把我关在这个笼子里，带回了家。”

“Every morning, when I see the sun, I think about the net. So now I only sing at night.”

“每天早晨，当我看到太阳的时候，我就会想到网兜，所以现在我只在睌上唱歌。”

“That is a sad story.I can help you to fly again!I can open the cage!” says the owl.

“这真是一个悲伤的故事，我可以帮助你再次飞翔！我能打开这个笼子！”仓鸮说。

The songbird flaps his wings.He flies out of the window and up into the tree with the owl.

这只会唱歌的鸟儿拍打着翅膀，他和仓鸮一起飞到窗外，飞到了树上。

“Thank you!” says the bird. “Now I am happy and free! I shall sing in the daytime again.”

“谢谢你！”鸟儿说，“现在我开心又自由！我要重新在白天唱歌。”

“But I have learnt my lesson.From now on, I shall always sing with my eyes open!”

“但是我已经吸取了教训，从现在开始，我要一直睁着眼睛唱歌！”
